Advanced and developed countries are required to consider many important factors to sustain their statuses. One of the most important things for sustainable development is boosting scientific technology. We, South Korea, are expanding our influence internationally through semiconductor, display, mobile phone, home appliance, shipbuilding, steel, automotive, architecture, construction, plant engineering, functional materials, and aerospace related industries.
At the moment, training engineers with globally competitive potential is critical for the region’s prosperity and its contribution to global society.
The Ministry of Education designated Global Education Center for Engineering (GECE) in 2009 to nurture engineering talents and develop engineering education to the higher level. GECE constantly makes efforts to develop and provide the world-class global engineering education program in association with domestic and foreign partner universities, establish the international education and research network with state of the art equipment for video lectures, and train creative and promising global engineers who will be competitive in a global 21st century society.
